CINEME 2004
CINEME kicks off each fall in the historical city of Chicago, a vibrant gathering place for meeting artistic counterparts from around the world, and is dedicated to showcasing the best and brightest in animation and digital media through Film, Television, Music, 3D Design, Web, Gaming, Architecture and Technology.
This year CINEME is bigger and better than ever with $25,000 IN CASH and PRIZES, plus Halo Tournament, Video Game Developer Summit, exclusive nightly parties, musical guests, celebrities, distributors, award-winning speakers and premieres. Taking place September 24-26.
CINEME has partnered with AGP (Association of Gaming Professionals) to bring you a monster of a Halo Tournament. $20,000 in CASH PRIZES, product giveaways, bragging rights and it’s all broadcast on national television. What could be better than that?

The Association of Gaming Professionals (AGP) is the premier professional video gaming league that strives to elevate professional console video gaming tournaments in the United States. The AGP currently use Xbox as platform and for the main event, use game of the year Halo for their competitions.

7PM – Midnight: Kaleidoscope Chicago The charity for the 2004 CINEME Opening Night Gala is G.R.E.E.N. (Global Resources Educating for the Environment and Nature). G.R.E.E.N. is dedicated to the education and conservation of the planet through the preservation of endangered tigers. Because tigers are the perfect bellwethers for the plight of so many species whose environments have been completely wiped out, G.R.E.E.N.’s task is to create a suitable environment for these awesome and graceful animals and, through them, to educate the rest of the public on how to live harmoniously thus allowing all life to flourish on the planet.The festivities include great food, sponsored by Elegant Edge and a bar provided by Bacardi, the world-renown Boomshaka rhythm and dance group, A-list celebrities, movie studio execs and an experience you truly do not want to miss!

5PM - 6PM: Manga Entertainment has once again teamed-up with Japan’s revered Production I.G (Kill Bill, Ghost in the Shell) to create another unique and original anime co-production. The iconoclastic Dead Leaves exhibits Manga’s continued commitment into developing new cutting-edge anime films with I.G following the release of 2003’s acclaimed ethereal period piece Kai Doh Maru and 2001’s smash vampire action thriller Blood: the Last Vampire. Named after a fictitious prison in outer space, Dead Leaves displays a new and uncharted dimension of Japanese animation - presented in an eye-popping, vibrant and frantically paced action adventure film.
