All the world has been awestruck and laughed out loud viewing images created by Academy Award winning director/animator Chuck Jones. For nearly a century his family of unforgettable cartoon characters have influenced the international animation community and ’toon fans across the globe.In order to put all of his achievements and talents into perspective, I chose to produce a timeline of his accomplishments. That was no easy task! My research did not unearth a straight forward list. So happily, I compiled a concise timeline that I hope allows you to further appreciate what a visionary genius Chuck Jones was.

Irra Verbitsky, President of Polestar Animation Company, Animation Teacher for School of Visual Arts, and painter, is showing her recent works at the Elaine Benson Gallery and Sculpture Garden from August 24 - September 16, 2002.

Irra’s body of work ranges from animation to painting. In this show she will be exhibiting 13 buoys from the beach. They are located oin the back fence of the sculpture garden. To the left are two sketches of the buoys as how they will look finished.

For the first time in animation history, the public will now be able to watch an entire animated feature being drawn before their eyes. On Monday, Sept. 16, Bill Plympton will begin drawing his new animated feature, HAIR HIGH, and it will all be done live on the internet.

There will be a camera over Bill’s shoulder, and from 10 am to 6 pm (E.S.T.) every day, you can watch as he single-handedly draws his new animated extravaganza.
